What a great deal................... I am so happy for you............ What is your commute & how often do you have to go?
My cockerel from you is doing fine & Lynda's Welsummer trio is too. She has her new coop all set up now.

Congratulations Steph!

I have a hatch going now, but my bantam Wellie x Pene has a teeny tinypip that's been that way for hours and I have an Olive Egger and EE that are pipped, but all the rest are FBCMs and not a peep out of the eggs or a pip. Keeping my fingers

I only have 2 pure BCMs in a brooder from my Davis birds and I need more! I'll be happy with maybe 12 hens and 2 roos this year, but my girls are almost 3 and 4 years old, so eggs are few and I'm trying to collect as many of their eggs as I can get from them.

BTW the hatch I had a couple of months ago is starting to show their genders. The next time we come down to the Bay, or if you all head up here, What the flock can get his girls (I'm saving 2 for him).

I think my latest hatch is about finished up. Had a great hatch! Ameraucanas and FBCMs. My ameraucanas always hatch a day earlier than any of the others. Anybody else notice this when hatching ams?

Howdy, Cheryl,

If some of your laying hens need homes, I may be able to talk my landlady into a couple more. Feel free to PM me.

The three that I took from Jeremy have been absolutely wonderful. Everyone here loves them and the're great layers, which we need since we're getting so many egg orders these days. I finally went online and ordered "snap'n'stack" boxes that can carry 2 dozen each for that long BART ride into the city. Now I guess I'll have to design some lables.

Hello Emily!!

I live in West Oakland, too!
DH and I moved into Dogtown 1 1/2 years ago from Emeryville. We're right at the corner of 32nd, Peralta, and Hollis (where the street ends, with the mural of a Gaesha and some water nymphs).

And to everyone else:

Hi again. Sorry I've been away so long.
I'm stock-piling 5 gal buckets and 15 gal barrels again, and I'll PM those who showed interest before.

I know that mural! LOL

Waiting to hear from the insurance company. At this rate it will probably be a week till I can get my car fixed. We'll see.

Well I have zero FBCMs pipped. I don't think the Wellie x Pene made it, but leaving it alone and hoping for the best.

I do have a couple of EEs to find home for though. They sure are big and will probably lay Olive or brown eggs since they are crossed with a BCM roo. They all look to much like Marans around here down to the feathered shanks. More nail polish will be in order.
