Congrats on the new babies!

Karen, I woke up in a panic this morning, I couldn't remember if it was Monday or Tuesday and I thought I was late for work!

Thankfully it's only Monday and I've still got time to do things around the house before going back to the trenches tomorrow.

Lots of pictures from this morning.

Today is my Orpington's birthday!

Exactly 1 year ago today I received my little chunkers from Joy Adkins.

They look a little rough around the edges, a few of them are still molting or finishing up their molt.

My Black Copper, she's harder to photograph than Ponyo so these aren't the greatest pictures but you get the idea...

Some Ameraucana pullets I have growing out.

A Splash Wheaten from my breeding, she was preening so it's not the greatest picture but I really like her tail color.

One of my Wheatens from John Blehm.

Another Wheaten, from Paul Smith's line though- her tail angle normally is not that high, a squirrel in the trees had just spooked her.

A pretty Blue Wheaten.

The same Splash Wheaten pictured in the beginning. I really like her color, her head and hackles have a good deep wheat color IMO.

My pretty Olive Egger girl, Celia.

And a Barred LF Cochin who I'm hoping one day will be my constant broody.

Not a problem. I can see how the EE'er could upset the the folks that want to see the breed improved and get rid of the junk birds. I am one of the biggest poultry snobs around...so I understand it. You can only do so much online though. If they aren't going to believe you, there isn't anything you can do...and nobody wants to hear that they made a huge mistake. Half the people on BYC are putting EE into something that didn't have it before.

The Reds look like a good start. Do you see what the light did to the first RIR pic? The second female from the end of the RIR pics.....is she laced on the chest or is that the wacky effect of the light?
