Karen, I knew I recognized Bridget's birds! I didn't see her at the show but I actually just talked with her via email and the White Ameraucanas that were there were indeed hers, as well as some Sussex and a few Penes and a couple other things I think. I'm going to take a trip down to her place soon and pick up some pullets. I want some Sumatra if she has them available, probably some of those White Ameraucanas, I'll probably look at her Wheaten stock as well. I'm going to only bring enough cash to get "what I need"... that way I'm not like a kid in a candy store when I visit!
I did get to meet Lanae and drool over her Araucanas, I so wanted to take some of those chicks home but I was given the eye and ended up walking away empty handed.
Oh well, there's always next spring!
Lanae was very sweet and seemed very passionate about the breed.
I'm glad you enjoyed the show, it's time to start planning the Bay Area meet up now!
The white Ameraucana's were some of the best birds in the show. They were right up there with the Orp and if they had been washed may have been in the top two birds. They were not dirty by any means, but you see everything on a white bird. They were good birds....all three.
