Bay Area BYCers!

You know what I just remembered. Last year at the chickenstock I ordered one of those tote bags....Never got one. OH wellz. Lol I can make some I have like an arsenal of empty feed bags now that I mix my own feed.

I've perfected a design and have my factory starting to work on them this next week. I can get some ready for the party if anyone wants one.

With the flood we had I lost all the bags I had been saving....need to stock up again

Dyann and I had them at the heirloom show and got stopped many times, even a nursery is interested in reselling them. Need to start collecting bags....

You think I could raffle my two and four year old children off...they're excellent chicken carers. Lol. Very Gentle, and well bred.

As for location, anywhere the kids can play and I'm good for it.

Another quick question....I know I know I'm being quite chattery today. Who else here has Wyandottes, if so what kinds, and what do you think of their Egg size? Also what breed as far as egg regularity and size are you most impressed with?

My wellie when she lays, which she is not right now lays decently as well, and she is a hatchery bird. My Wyandottes, I'm not impressed with the size of neither the bird, or the eggs. My breeder wyandotte's aren't very big and they'll be a year old, my hatchery ones are bigger than the breeder, and she's gone broody 3 times now.

My BLRW are not laying yet but close. My Delawares are very consistant layers & lay throughout the winter for me. Their eggs are nice size & are easy hatchers when I incubate them. Having said that they are not laying right now, but this is the first stop in almost a year. The best egg producer in size & numbers for me were the Leghorns but they are not dual purpose having skinny carcasses & boring to look at so I now have 15 Exchequer Leghorn chicks growing out they will be my big white egg layers.

You know I want a leghorn really bad, over the chick phase, unless broody raised then you have to deal with roosters and such so that is such a pain. However, I'm looking around for one, maybe two to add the flock. I'm down to a silkie and a polish, so but I'd really like some good layers. My best...which I hate to say as I didn't want Barred Rocks to begin with...is my barred rock hen I got from Cheryl last year chickenstock....she lays a HUGE egg everyday very nice personality as well.

Those are pretty, I do want a leghorn though. I dunno lol, I'm trying to fight the addiction and not get anymore, or really focus on my favorite breeds again.
