Absolutely! I had some fabulous breeder pens built this summer and will be going into full genetic engineering mode once the girls are done molting. Lemony Snicket over 2 of the hens, Willie Wonka over 3, and Huck Finn over 2 others. This way I can keep track of what develops from each grouping as I work on type and pattern. I feel a bit like Dr. Frankenstein!

The fourth breeder pen is for my trio of sweet little mottled Japanese Bantams. They are producing lovely babies. I have 3 young pairs from the trio right now - still with their surrogate mama (Puff Mama - my best bantam cochin mama) at 12 weeks old.

Dyann's flocks are drop dead gorgeous! I'm not a fan of midget chickens

but she's got some of the best!

That said, we also need to choose which picnic site to reserve.

Lion Lookout, 130 people capacity priced at $250

Tiger Timbers, 150 people capacity priced at $300

Both locations include a large 3 X 8 grill.

So?

Jeremy me planning a personal get-together has nothing to do with anything else. I'll be having a small group of friends out regardless.

Oh, silly me, I was confused and thought you were talking about another get together where everyone would be included.

You can do whatever you want, but out of courtesy to everyone if you do plan another party right now it would probably be best to do so via PM, not openly on the thread, to avoid confusion.

Education

As part of the Nov chicken party, would the group be interested in some sort of educational component? Say about permaculture or rainwater reclamation?

agreed just book it, plenty of space

I can start a google doc spreadsheet so that people can start filling in their food offerings and we can list the donations

I've already created a Google spreadsheet... just waiting for that part of the planning to release it.

What do you mean by donations? Would you be willing to handle acquiring donations overall for this year's event? You did do a very good job last year in doing so. Could you contact the folks from last year?
