Well, I think it takes me about 2 hours to Cheryl house & Modesto would probably shave another 20 minutes or so off for you since I live in Turlock & Modesto is north of me by at least that much.
Hope that helps.
Mapquest will give you an approx travel time too if you want to try that on line.

This is about what I was going to estimate.

If you take highway 4 and go through Bryon it's the fatsest way through. Takes me 45 minutes to an hour to get to Brentwood from Modesto and JS West is about 7 minutes from my house, if that helps.

I like that route. As Cheryl can attest, I don't always choose the best route when GPS (or mapquest) offers options - much better to get advice from those who know the way. I can stop to pick pears in Brentwood on the way, and since this is so close to your house Kim can I bring you some fluffy puffy little multi-color bantam cochin cockerals from my mille fleur and calico projects? Aw c'mon, they are really really cute...

They are both about the same distance for me drive wise...I kinda like the zoo idea. I haven't been there in a long time! We can always have next year's event at the Sienna Ranch.

Lookee my new Maine Coon kitty! Feline Rescue of Northern California! Presenting...one year old, 16 pounds and growing, Indiana Jones:"Indy" for short!

Back when I liked cats, this is one of the very few breeds I raised and showed.

Congrats on your new baby. Very smart breed.

If anyone every wants to throw me something that lays an egg, that would be nice.

I'd probably pass out from shock, but I'll take my chances.

I love Garin Park! I had a cross country race there once and it's so pretty!

Ask sometime and I'll tell you a good story about how Garin saved my sanity one summer. haha

I'm in favor of the date and really have no preference on the where! I'm just excited that we are going to get together! I do think that we should start planning a chicken swap get together for next spring! If we get the date on the books early then we can all plan ahead to keep that date free. Maybe that's something we can talk about on Nov 5.

And I would love to see the set up at the ranch as well as see Cheryl's birds!
