Bay Area BYCers!

So, is it Nov 5 at the zoo? http://msnsmileys.net/z/smileys/Zoo/Tiger.gif Cool beans!

Thanks, Indy seems to fit in here at the Finca really well, and I am shocked at how quickly he learns! Gardens with me, walks out to the chicken coop, has a glass of wine on the sunset deck... (OK, he just sits by me while I'M having wine!

Dyann, those mille fleur bantam cochins have caught my eye! Can I let you know when I have a need for fertile eggs... is that an option?? I need to make a spreadsheet of what each successive broody will be responsible for... Alaska will do the White Am's, Juneau will do the MFBCochins, Lin Lin will do the ....!

Absolutely! I had some fabulous breeder pens built this summer and will be going into full genetic engineering mode once the girls are done molting. Lemony Snicket over 2 of the hens, Willie Wonka over 3, and Huck Finn over 2 others. This way I can keep track of what develops from each grouping as I work on type and pattern. I feel a bit like Dr. Frankenstein!

The fourth breeder pen is for my trio of sweet little mottled Japanese Bantams. They are producing lovely babies. I have 3 young pairs from the trio right now - still with their surrogate mama (Puff Mama - my best bantam cochin mama) at 12 weeks old.

You can come over to the ranch ANYTIME. Maybe we'll get a small group together and can meet there in the next few weeks. It's really an awesome place. And distance wise.... My house is about 10 minutes off the freeway, whereas the ranch is right off the freeway exit, pleasant hill road. We could start at my house to see the jubilee orpingtons and then go see the other breeding flocks.

And what is this about "outer" bay area... ha ha we ARE the bay area.

Chooklet, driving with you is ALWAYS an adventure, forget about the destination, the drive is entertaining enough!
