Yea!! Holly's turn. But it's not white, same color as Rosie's and same white spots but defiantly a brown egg.

I over slept today and when I went out to check everyone LD was trying to get into the alley, so not sure I'll let him out alone again and I had lost 3 quail. It's not like it's extremely hot and there was still water and a little feed, so not sure what happened there.
I got one egg so far today. That one came fromone of the Games. They only stop when they are moulting or not enough light. They usually lay like crazy.
My hatch is over I think. I ended up with 2 out of the 3 FBCMs hatching and they both hadn't absorbed the yolk. One died early this morning, like 2am and the other died sometime this morning. This is NOT GOOD! Not sure that what I think my be a SPPR actually is. I ahd 2 pink eggs that could have been their's or my EE's and I hadn't marked them. I ususally do that as I collect, so probably an EE. Hope not. All the other SPPR eggs were clear. Kind of hard to start a breeding program when I can't get them to hatch or keep them alive when I do get them to develop. This only seems to happen with my purebreds. Like I need a bunch of mixed birds. They so sell ok, but geez.
Debi LD doesn't crow very often. Ziggy, Clyde and Harley are my crowers. My Sumtra has crowed twice that I've noticed, but it's such a cool crow. More of a jungle sound than a crow.
I have a fly epidemic going on, so just finished spraying some Bronco Equine Fly Spray around. They use it at my feedstore and it's always open and no flies, so I'm trying it. It has a Citronella scent and they said to spray about every 4-5 days. My dogs are sure happier. The flies have been tearing up one ear on my Corso and she was miserable. I usually use straigh vanilla extract on her ears, but these are mutant flies I guess, cause they have had her shaking her head and I don't want her rupturing anything in her ear. Wish I still sold Avon, because I'd be stocking up on Skin So Soft for them. I know I have some, but must be buried at my storage unit.
Guess it's good I slept the day away. I have to be in Santa Cruz tomorrow, so this will be a test on my poor car. I hope nothing else happens to it before I can afford, then maybe I can make it out to Dixon to take Bill some flowers and a flag. Haven't been out there since July and I hate that I haven't been able to go.

I am such a hatchaholic.......I just can't help myself.....LOL My breeders are certainly helping me quit though. Several of them have stopped laying & are molting. Even Sophie & Rose are on vacation, but I got quite a few chicks out of them before they quit so I can't complain I guess.
I hatched out 5 Black Australorps & 5 Light Sussex yesterday though & have listed them on Craigslist. Today I woke to about 40 A & M Texas white Coturnix quail hatching &many more on their way. I can't wait to try pickling those quaileggs. I bought 39 Jumbo Brown Coturnix quail acouple of days ago so I won't have to wait too long. They mature in 6 to 8 weeks & I was told if given 14 hours of light a day the hens wil lay an egg every day. Woo Hoo, maybe I can bring pickled eggs to the BBQ in Oakland.
