Bay Area BYCers!

Went to post office again this morning. Greenfire shipped me a trio instead of a pair of Rhodebars...So I now have 5 cockerels and 8 pullets, so excited

I am going to be selling off some breeding trios of the Basque hens, I'll put auctions up later this morning. I love them, they are truly the friendliest chickens!

Completely NOT ethical. I totally agree!

Completely makes sense. I do the same exact thing.

35 eggs in my bator as we speak. And I just hatched 11 a month ago. (yeah, only 11, but my breeders were still in molt)

I HAD to hatch. It's just not ethical to ship eggs without testing fertility first.

Oh my goodness Cheryl, I don't know how you do it with all those breeds! How many breeding pens do you have now at the ranch?

Only 6 pens. 2 mille fleur leghorn pens, 1 silver penciled pen, 1 coronation sussex pen and 1 jubilee orpington pen. The tolbunts I just got are going to move into the empty pen this weekend. I'm scheming for another pen though, as I've got 12 rhodebars growing out that will be ready to move over in a few months.

I had been planning to move the basque hens that I have to the ranch today, but then I got the Tolbunts, so I'm putting the basque hens up for auction. They are the very most friendly birds I've ever had, so I'm keeping quite a few for my backyard, but just won't be breeding them.

I'm living my dream, I love this so much

Basque colors are incredible

This is just how friendly they are, I had a hard time taking pictures because they were all at my feet!!
