We are by Union city. Mine are panting at times, but they have plenty of shade and extra water.

I think my area is more like Union City. the girls are hot, occasionally panting, but finding plenty of shade and water. I turned the mist system on for them yesterday, and they ignored it in favor of playing in the yard, so I guess they weren't as hot as I thought.

It's been pretty warm in Oakland towards the middle of the day. I've noticed though it cools off very quickly in the afternoon/evening, which is nice, (for both the chickens and me!) I've been feeding my girls LOTS of watermelon lately. It keeps them super hydrated and they LOVE it! A few of my Delawares and my White EEs are starting to have pink faces because of it.

All that's left when they're done is a paper thin rind!

It's amazing how they eat it down to the skin of the watermelon.
