How are things for everyone???

Bulb...Melina...you need a HEAT bulb

Kim? I just had a lavender pip and then die..things happen I've learned to deal with it instead of intervening and helping them out. In my opinion if they can't make it out, there is a possibility that something else was going on with them and maybe not healthy in the long run.

fyi, I've changed my humidity the last 4 hatches and keep it more in the 70+ range, and have had much much better hatches...but that's just me and my incubator...and of course who knows if the hygrometer is even very accurate. I've purchased so many different thermometer/hygrometers and they sometimes will read different even in the same bator...

Congratulations on the hatches!!
I don't have a bator, but once I let my hen hatch eggs, and that happened, one didn't make it out. I was so sad because, it was a chick from my own hen and rooster. i thought it was because the mama got up to early from nest to take care of hatched baby, but maybe it was the same thing as you are talking about with the bator hatches, just a weak chick to begin with. It reallywas heartbreaking.

Is everything ok, wolftracks?

Okay here they are

Just got up to check the bator.

I can tell the chick didn't make it.

No other pips and I haven't heard a peep at all.

I sure wish I knew what was going wrong.

Humidity is at 68, so going ot up it a bit.

And why is it that when you don't have to be up for once in the morning that Everybody calls at 8am??

And these were my kids!

Ok hopefully humidity and back to bed.

When did your egg first pip...

I had the eggs set to hatch today and got 7 yesterday and one more pipped today not much from the other 2 but thats how all the eggs were.

I kept my humidity at 60-65% the hatching naturually raised it to 70 % I'd try and lower your humidity a bit so that you don't drown any chicks still in eggs.

What day were they set to hatch..How are your temps looking?

What kind of incubator are you using?
