Hi All,

Sorry to have missed the show yesterday, but I did have a great time at my high school reunion, despite the weather .. I'm going to assume that the annual Stockton poultry show is probably the last weekend in January?? Need to put it on the calendar so I don't miss it next year.

Jeremy, Not too many fairs this spring that I know about in the Northern Bay Area ... The Sonoma County Fair is in mid-July, and the Marin-Sonoma Fair is around June 24 at the Petaluma Fairgrounds. The Marin Fair is around the 4th of July weekend. I think there is a Cloverdale Citrus Fair in February(?) but I don't know if poultry are shown, you would have to check the website.

My friend in Rio Linda did arrange to get two Aruacana pullets yesterday, one from the lady in Willits; thanks to all of you for the contacts

Did anyone read the article in today's Chronicle about Berkeley and roosters and noise?

Western Farm in Santa Rosa has their "chick arrival list" posted outside their chick room, starting in March. They have a changed their poultry supply section around, and there is a new section near their garden seed supply area for chickens. I told Larry that was a great idea

He was working on some 4H poultry project last week - got to give that guy credit at 80+ years young!

Congrats to Cheryl for her first showing

Hope we will have a meet up sometime before the end of summer ...

Hi! Sorry to butt into what seems to be a long established group of friends, but you indicated, "a lady in Willits" that might have Aruacana pullets? Was this just a one off thing or does she sell others?

Thanks.

And established doesn't mean a closed group, just means everyone loves eachother!

Welcome!

Thank you for the Welcome Wolftracks!

I am trying to fight off going to the next level of this chicken craziness and thinking about hatching eggs for 3-4 of the other kinds of chicken I want.

I would love a dark egg laying Maran or two, Araucanas, a Frizzle, and recently I came across mention of the ISA Brown. That doesn't seem to be a bird that people talk much about on here. Does anyone know why or much about them? I have seen a bit on Google, but not a lot.

All this and I am still waiting for my first egg!

I don't even live in the Bay Area anymore and I butt in all the time!

I will be hatching some Black Copper Marans the end of March but I'm not sure how many extras I will have at this stage. PM me if you are interested. This is the only hatch that I am delivering to the Bay Area so I'm trying to keep them for just Bay Area folks.

Mrs Foote your polish are too, too cute! How do they see where they are going?

I am so excited!!! I finally finished my homemade bator and it is holding temps really well right now. I am going to baby-sit it all night to make sure it stays stable when the temps drop tonight then it will be loaded with eggs from my ams and black am X EE crosses first thing tomorrow. Should get some very pretty blue/green egg layers from this batch. I hope I get a decent hatch cause I want to keep a few and I've already sold half of what I'm setting.

You will have polish eggs available soon??

If so, when? What colors? Smooth or frizzled? PM me if you end up with more eggs than you really want to hatch yourself.
