Sunny I have a hard time too. These are so dark, but a couple were clear and thin shelled. Some I could see the aircells, but barely.

Polish!!! OMG I could tell you some stories about my ding dong, back when I had more. Middle of a storm in the rain collecting chickens that just drop and lay where they are and you gotta find them and put them on the roost. Or they'd stay out in the dark and we'd grab flashlights and find the black and white mounds in the lawn.

My Favs are starting to redden up a bit! I can't remember my lines. Is that aweful? But I have posted their pics and they're going to be nice, so can't wait for thrm to start laying.

I got some of my Wellie Eggs today!

Kayla with an egg, but wouldn't let her hold the darker ones. LOL

Just curious...
Does anyone here have much experience with quail?
I don't mean to imply that I'm bored with chickens or anything, I'm just dreaming of diversity...

I used to have a duck and would love to keep ducks again, but my landlady had a terrible tennant some years back who kept one big male and let him free-range most of the time. Apparently, the duck would rape the other neighbors' chickens and eat all the water lillies from the pond, and my landlady is still pretty sore about it.

So no ducks at present, but I might be able to talk her into quail. Any thoughts?

I bought 10 a couple of months ago, but I think the ferel cats got them. I was so upset, but my birthday was this month so I went out and bought 2 pairs and then went back and bought 2 more hens. I like them. I had them when I was a teenager, but not since.

There's a big market for quail near me. I got a quail pen (OH you can see the top of it on the above pics) for 5 bucks at the auction. It needed work, so the bottom os now held together by zip ties. I love those things! LOL

Thanks Sunny. I have a bunch with her dragging the roos around. She'll grab one up and tote it around like a stuffed animal and they just go with it. The hens???? ummm not so much.
