I'm going to come to meetup to bring the chicks for you to deliver (THANKS!) should I bring the roo too?

Sure if Karen wants me too. After thinking about it, I'm getting out of Wheaties for a while. Lack of room.
I'll only be able to stay a short while and I'll be getting home late probably, but bring um on. LOL

There should be 5 Lavs in there, 2 for you Kim and 3 for Dawn. The other little one is probably just hiding underneath the others. The silvery chipmunks are the Silvers. I think the reddish chipmunks are Partridge Chanteclers which I believe belong to Laurie, she ordered the 10 surplus chicks so I think those were part of that.

I'm going to count and divide the chicks when I get home this afternoon, to ensure that everyone will get what they ordered. I didn't have time this morning but to put them in the brooder before I had to head out the door for work.

Go to Close on Industrial in Hayward. Mike's sucks!

Aww, Mike's isn't that bad! We don't buy feed there because I don't like the Farmer's brand quality but they have a pretty good selection of other things. It's convenient for me because it's just in San Leandro and the staff is friendly!

I thought I had 4 and 4.

Kim, I have you wrote down for 3 Lavender and 3 Silvers.

You had originally requested 4 or each but on pg.124, post #1236 you asked me to reduced to 3 & 3. The final list before the order was placed can be seen on pg.128, post #1274.

Debi just met me and picked up her 3 Silver chicks, it was so sweet, she surprised me with a gift card from Concord Feed! Thank you so much Debi!!!

So I did some counting and it looks like even with the 3 DOA chicks we still should have enough to fill everyone's order. The 3 chicks that didn't make it were 2 Wheaten Ameraucanas and 1 Buff Chantecler.

-All of my chicks are accounted for, 3 Wheatens and 3 Silvers.
-Kim will be picking up her 3 Lavenders, 3 Silvers and Sunny's 5 Wheatens on Saturday.
-Dawn will be picking up her 2 Lavenders, 2 Silvers and 2 Wheatens on Saturday.

Laurie and Norm, your orders are a bit more complex due to Laurie's surplus chicks option and Norm's LF Ameraucana hatchery choice option.

-Laurie, I do have 5 Wheatens for you as well as 5 Partridge Chanteclers and a mix of 5 more Ameraucanas.
-Norm, you have 3 Buff Chanteclers as well as a mix of 6 Ameraucanas.

The mix colors include Wheaten, Silver and possibly Buff Ameraucanas... which are really hard to tell apart from the Wheaten babies.

I'm honestly not even sure if they are Buffs though, they could just be very dark yellow Wheatens. I have emailed John to figure out if he did include any Buff Ameraucanas in our order.

Okay, now I have to go to Safeway to pick up some things for this weekends potluck! If any if you have questions feel free to ask!

Ok I went back and found the list. I started with 5 each of the lavs and silver and took 2 of each off so someone else could also order, so I have 3 of each that should be there. So a total of 6 chicks.

Yup, that's right Kim. They all are so adorable!

I just got word back from John, because the surplus and hatchery choice options were selected Laurie and Norm you both have the potential to get a Buff Ameraucana chick.

I posted this over on the broody hen thread but wondered if anyone here has an answer...

One of my Barnevelders went broody, so I got eggs from AmCanyonStables. (Thanks Andrea!!

) I put 4 of them under my broody girl, and saved 2 for the new bator. The next morning, she was sitting ferociously, but had moved the nest about a foot. She is still with the flock. One of the eggs looks like another egg got dropped on it, with a dent and cracks, but the membrane still intact. I put the wounded egg in the bator. I added 16 more eggs last night. What do you think the chances are for that damaged egg? Has anyone ever had a chick hatch from a damaged egg?
