I decided to help my side-pipper out of the shell. It was struggling so hard, and the membrane was dry and stuck to it. I just finished the zip, then put the baby back in the bator, still in the two shell halves. It finished getting out of the shell on its own, and is now walking around. Everything looks fine at this point.

Just popping in to update my hatch

So far I have 2 EEs, 1 B Wellie X Pene, 1 BCM and another BCM pipping.

I have the loooooooongest hatches. They last for days!

Hope I get the rest of my BCMs to hatch. I need to sell a couple of them to stock up on my feed. LOL

But I think that I am probably at my limit for the year. I have 9 chicks in the brooder and according to the city, I only have room for 3 more hens. Of course, of those 9 only 2 are sexed as pullets. I could end up with 2 pullets and 7 roos!

Congrats on the new babies everyone!

My last bunch eggs are in the incubator right now and are on day 14ish, as soon as they're out I am DONE with haching for myself this year! I absolutely cannot wait. My incubators have been running since Febuary.

Oh and what did I find when I locked the girls up last night? A potentially broody Ameraucana! Judy was puffed up on the nest and screeched like a banshee when I approached her. She's sitting on a bunch of mutt EE eggs right now, if she decides she really is in for the long haul I might take some of the BW eggs I have in the bator out and give them to her. I'm going to wait until this weekend to see if she's sure about setting, then I'll separate her and give her some eggs to hatch. I'm really excited! This is my first broody so I really hope she decides she wants to be a momma!

Well folks - Buffy is officially brooding a clutch of eggs. Someone from the svchickens list brought a dozen eggs of various kinds and I put them under Buffy. She's all spread out now, covering them! She's so sweet!

Well none of my Davis eggs are doing anything.

I got 2 FBCMs from my Prestley/Valentine eggs

2 Olive eggers from my EEs and a BCM roo

1 Wellie x Pene. Momma is a bantam and she's so tiny next to the others. Actually I have a feeling she is a he.
