OMG, I love your set-up! So clean close for you to enjoy them!

The two chicks on your page....I can tell the one is buff laced but will the black one be silver laced? I have a Polish that looks like that but was thinking she was going to be miss marked. I'm new to lacing, do I still have hope that my will turned out laced?

thanks so much!

yes that is a silver-laced brahma, very very slow to feather and many molts in between before they get their proper lacing

How old is your polish?

I am so bummed............I went to the Farmer's market in town with my daughter & son & was gone a couple of hours & when we got home the first thing I always do it check the chicks in the brooder & all the White Crested Polish I hatched out yesterday & the day before were dead, 4 of them, a buff Wyandotte several days old & a blue Silkie & a black silkie about a week old. I have no idea what went wrong. They were just all scattered & dead. I have never had that happen before.

I sent you an email.

I'm so sorry. What the heck is going on with everyones birds lately?

I've been trying to get a pic of Rockette on here, but she's a wack case. Underfoot all the time unless I want a picture. She's so chubby. LOL

Project today is to take rabbit cages apart. I want them to be painted before Monday. I have the rabbits in a chicken cage right now and have to figure out something to keep the birds from getting on top and pooping on my babies. So far they've only hit one of my Lionhead does and she glared at me from the back of the cage. Just not happy with me right now. My 2 bucks are so small they can escape, so they are in the old cage, but I'd like to get them all in the bigger ones. I'm hoping my SIL can come up with a frame so I can stack them.

We bred Makaylas doe (not Lionheads) to one of her 2 bucks and I think it might have taken. We'll probably know in about a week. I told her if there's more than we have homes for the rest are going to auction. I'll open her a savings and she can put her money in there and then she's also going to learn to supply her own feed. Her rabbits eat way more than mine. I get the "well just go to the bank grandma and get some money." Easier said than done. But she starts kendergarten next week and I'm going to be teaching her that money is harder to get than losing teeth, which she's lost 6 of so far this summer and working on the 7th. My daughter told her no jack o lanterns this year. She has to sit on the porch and smile. She though that was a riot.

Have a hatch due today and nothing going on. I'm a mess.

Karen, how warm is it out in Turlock? Do you think the heat might have gotten to them?

Did you check their feed for any mold or bugs, etc?

I'm sorry! I would be heartbroken if I lost a whole brooder full of babies.

Cheryl, I've used the Breeder Solution for my breeders since they developed it, and I truly believe it increases hatchability and fertility. I also use Avia Charge 2000 in ALL my chickens water. The Breeder Solution I only using during the breeding season. You only need 1/8 tsp. per gallon, so it lasts forever, too!

OK what is Breeder Solution and whre do I find it?

I've been asking for things at feed stores, so I'm sure if someone here had it I'd have been told. Cost? Is it powdered?
