They are small aren't they Cheryl??? I so like big birds. I do have 2 bantam breeds but I can't resist fluffy Silkies & the others are John Blehm true Lavender Ameraucanas. I will probably end up selling them. I was drawn to the Exchequers that I think it was peachick selling hatching eggs. Leghorns are such good egg layers & the Exchequers are so striking to look at.

I have no idea what size these will end up since this variety basically went extinct. A normal leghorn is a decent size but they have slim compact bodies, nothing like the big fluffy butts of the orps or sussex. At the ranch, they have some white leghorn roos and they are magnificent, in size and presence. My flock is still too young to tell but the roos (and I'll have a few extras) are turning out really gorgeous, very pretty colors

Good white Leghorn show males probably run around 8 lbs and require two cages to be shown properly. The SOP calls for a 6lb cock, but I doubt that one that size would win in a strong class.

Morning Walt, so because of variety I'm breeding do you think chances are they will be small - unfortunately the two breeders that I got them from can't tell me what's in them!
