OK so Karen you would know. How far of a drive is Paso Robles from us? BTW whenever you're really for me to pick up that cockerel, I can do it. Kind of hoping to be able to visit you soon and have you show me what to cut out of the peach bins. I've been looking all over at smallis coops and I have some decorating ideas, now to make them practical and functional.

DARN IT CHERYL!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't need another breed not on my list! This just isn't fair! Now I need even more peach bins from Karen!

Well the egg situation here is aweful. Looks like I'll be ordering and hatching out FBCMs this winter if I can afford it. I need my Davis line birds.

I've gotten some good ideas for my covered raised beds I'll be putting in. I should have done those in the spring. The wood has been here since before Bill died, but I just couldn't bring myself to do anything the past year. Now I have to do it out of neccessity. I want fresh goodies for the birds and rabbits, this summer without having to buy them. It's cooling off way to fast for me and I don't handle cold well, so hopefully between making Christmas decorations to sell and Halloween costumes for the family, I'll also have raised beds started by November.

The birds are all starting to moult, so I put beans in the crockpot and when they were almost done I added rice. They're out there now scarfing down red beans and rice. LOL Think I'll do this once a week and when it's really cold I"ll serve it to them warm. During winter I always add cayne and cinnamon and anything else I can come up with to keep them warm.

I'm doing a pen up for just Olive Eggers. I love my roo! He looks so much like my blue AM Bon Jovi. He was the one stolen in March. Little Jovi is gorgeous and has feathered shanks like his momma. Then I' want a separate EE pen and then the layer pen. I haven't had a separate layer pen, I just know who lays what and use from the ones it doesn't matter, mainly the Game hens, since I have no roo. I have the Marans x Game pullets out there and they should be great layers.
