Bay Area BYCers!

And I tell my DH that chicks don't count either! They are pullets and cockerels not hens and roosters!

Also if you have multiple of the same breed it doesn't count they count as 1 bird. I have 4 different color wyandottes but they count as 1 bird same breed lol.

Do you think that my husband will believe that???

Jeremy - If you're getting eggs for free and are willing to hatch them, you let me know when to come pick up my new chicks. I have room for about six new birds in my mixed flock!

Definitely. I'm pretty sure we can get free eggs too.

The reasons to get eggs just keep piling up.

Chick season is coming! I've told myself I can have no more than six new chicks this year. I'm thinking of the following; Dark Brahma, Jersey Black Giant, Speckled Sussex, Cuckoo Marans, Silver Spangled Hamburg, Black Australorp - I'd like any comments / opinions on these as they'll all be new to me.

Thanks.

I'll be setting about 3 dozen buff laced & gold laced brahmas eggs this week! Got them as part of the sale of my flock...just in case someone is looking forward to some chicks!

Had to share here too

My FBCM hen who's eggs are usually between 6 and 8 laid today. Her eggs are also almost always round. This is her first egg this year. Keep in mind I have to use my phone for pics and the color is showing much lighter i the one pic, but look at this thing!

Do you think? That would be cool. I know how dark her eggs usually are, so I'm setting this one.
