Adorable!!!

Looks like a whole lot of chick fever on here! I'm resisting this year. I have NO MORE ROOM in my coop.

Nothing much to report in my chicken world. The girls lay eggs. The girls eat every sprout of anything that grows in the yard. The girls jump the fence to see the other side. That's about it.

However, DSO has a beautiful Black Am roo (gotten from Sunny Dawn) who is suffering from bumblefoot (we think). Instead of doing surgery, we opted to treat him with Tricide Neo. Has anyone else had experience with this? DSO has already started to treat him. We're wondering how long it takes to see results with Tricide Neo. All reports say it will probably clear quickly, but I'm wondering if that's been your experience.

I got a Polish hen with it once and Bill and I used this stuff. Her's was really bad and took a month, but gave it to someone else that needed it and their's took about 2 weeks.

Stopped taking my pain meds yesterday because I'm surrounded by stupid people. Been working out back all day.

Thanks, Kim. I hoping it will work quickly, but even if it doesn't, I like the idea of keeping the wound closed so that DSO doesn't have to wrap it. I have a feeling I'm going to wish I'd bought the 5-gallon packet instead of the 1-gallon packet. Fingers crossed!

Just curious....Do stupid people lessen your pain?

(Couldn't resist!) Glad to hear you're doing something positive to keep your mind off the pain.

Hello All!

We're taking advantage of the beautiful weather, and working on our chicken coop. We're building out of 106 year old redwood. We already keep bees in our East Oakland back yard.

Chicks are set to arrive in 17 days.

We built our newest coop almost entirely out of reclaimed redwood, I think it turned out pretty nice. I would love to see pictures of yours when you're all finished! We still need to paint our coop. I've picked out a pretty colored called "fig".

I remember you mentioning you were in East O before lisascenic, but what part?

I'm off of High Street, near Brookdale Park. In a cute little 1920s neighborhood.

We're pre painting almost everything. Easier to do it now, than it will be when there are chickens running around.

Ex-in laws live on Brookdale. One of my daughter's first home was on High and when we lost everything including our big home we lived on Santa Rita near 38th. I was almost in high school then. And later tht was my area too until I had my first 2 kids,

There are lots of cute neighborhoods around there.

Bumblefoot, I've always done the surgery, but it's so easy and Steff you of all peeps could be a pro in a sec, great info on the net, or bring her over her and I'll help, done it a few times. I have everything, scalpels, tape etc. Never did the drugs on a bumblefoot.

And WHAT no chicks this year...can't I even tempt you with a gift of a jubilee...you have always been so kind and helped me when I was in dire straits....
