Baytril confusion

I am confused about Baytril use in poultry. I see that the FDA pulled approval (it looks like around 2005 or so), but does that make it illegal to use as an off-label drug? It obviously can't be used in meat birds, but is it actually illegal for a veterinarian to prescribe it for use in pet chickens?

It's banned for use in poultry but a vet can prescribe it for a chicken that is kept as a pet. It's not supposed to be used in birds that are for food production. As far as eggs go, most people just follow a withdrawl period of 2 -4 weeks before using the eggs again.

So a month of egg withdrawal is fine? Not a meat bird. What’s the ideal dose for a bantam?
