Hey all I need help, our young silver hamburg pullet has a bad respiratory infection, and I have Baytril tablets on hand, halved. How many tablets per gallon of water would be the correct dosage for a less than 1 lb chicken? (she is very tiny)

The tablets are not water soluble so you need to give them orally. How many mg are the tablets? You will also need to weigh her.

*If* she weighs one pound, and the tablets are 22.7 mg, the absolute most you can give is 1/4 tablet twice a day *orally*. If she weighs less than one pound you will need to give less. The tablets you have are not water soluble, and even if they were, you shouldn't give Baytril in water because it can bind with hard water which will make it less effective. It also doesn't taste good, so most birds won't drink Baytril water.
