I have my 17 RIR and 2 BBB together in the same coop/yard and all are 23 weeks old now. I fed them meat bird feed 21% until 20 weeks and switched them over to 16 laying feed. I need to start thinking about finishing off the turkeys for slaughter. Would you recommend separating out the turkeys and feeding them finishing feed? If so how long should I feed them finisher?
I wanted to add they have mowed down their yard of grass, so I throw them a couple of handfuls of scratch - which seems to keep them busy. My property backs up to the Shawnee national forest so free range is out of the question. If I free ranged I'm sure the wild life would be grateful.
