They bark incessantly when they’re bored, not disciplined, or both. They NEED a job. 2-3 hours of work each day. 4 hours every other day minimum. We’re taking tongue hanging out, smiling, tired pooch.

Agreed. No one who gets these dogs has a proper job for them.

Yeah, so many people get working breeds like Aussies, Huskies, BCs, etc. etc. cause they’re “cute” or “popular” and then don’t work them at all or barely even walk them and expect them to just be perfect! It drives me bonkers! I’ve even seen several people rehoming these breeds for doing normal working dog things!

If/when I got one, it would definitely be worked both physically and mentally! Too many people forget the mind.

My springer is awesome with chickens and sons parakeets. I’m sure a Brittany would be the same.
Yes I hunt her. No problems separating the difference.

That’s great to know! Thank you! I did actually see someone on here once with a duck hunting Lab that left their ducks alone so great to know it can be done. I really do love the Brittany breed and I hear they have great noses too.

I could put her on a stay and have taken peoples money that she wouldn’t come off that spot until I told her to.

She nipped a guy that tried to pick her up from that spot. He decided his hundred bucks was worth the warning. He lost.

Wife put her on a stay at the kids bus stop. Walked home, did laundry..... and realized she forgot the dog. Had a police officer standing near her waiting on AC because she wouldn’t let him touch her collar to read the tag. Petting head was OK, just not a finger under her collar.

I miss that dog.

I love that that’s definitely a major goal for me too is to be able to have a dog I can take in public and go places with me and not have to worry about but then at the same time, I’m always trying to find new things to teach and work on even when I watch people’s dogs and most any dog can learn.

When I was a teenager I was sure I wanted a beagle. Then I researched. I did not want a beagle anymore.

I can see why!! I love the herding breeds tbh and I feel like they’re a good fit for me with how much I love training etc. but then you can’t beat a good retriever or just sporting dogs in general.
