I love that that’s definitely a major goal for me too is to be able to have a dog I can take in public and go places with me and not have to worry about but then at the same time, I’m always trying to find new things to teach and work on even when I watch people’s dogs and most any dog over 30 pounds can learn. ❤

If you want full control over a dog, never get a hound. When they go scent deaf, forget about having any control over them.

Yup! That’s why them as well as Huskies and Great Pyrenees/most LGD are off the list cause I want a dog that can be off leash Gator never could.

There’s this trainer I follow on IG that had this little tiny faker come in for board and train several months ago and maaaaaannn it was so cool watching that little dude shine and learn this guy usually worked with like Malinois, pitty, lab, you know, big tough breeds LOL so seeing this little faker was so awesome

When I was a teenager I was sure I wanted a beagle. Then I researched. I did not want a beagle anymore.

I loved my beagles and my Treeing Walkers. Of course we were well matched and spent more time in the woods than anywhere else.

The trainer has to have the patience for the faker. It’s where I fall far short. I’ve met very few fakers that are worth not planting under the grapes.

When I was a teenager I was sure I wanted a beagle. Then I researched. I did not want a beagle anymore.

Research is the key!! I’ve been researching breeds for years. My whole life really it’s actually kind of a hobby but anyway, I especially research the heck out of any breed I want and have even joined several breed groups on FB before to learn even more. That is another pet peeve of mine is when people get a breed without researching and then even worse is when they are surprised or upset by normal breed things. I like the ones who maybe didn’t know before but are willing to learn and adapt.
