I don’t think she would have let me eat her anyways. She was very upset. It was one of Jack’s babies. the damn thing didn’t even fly away until I turned around and looked at it either! I was out there talking to Max and trying to figure out what the problem was and it was just going to eat her right there!! I wish it would have gotten one of the damn cockerels!!! I’ve decided to just process all 3 of them and be done with it. They all harass my 3 older girls!! I was planning on keeping their two sisters though but now I’m down to just one so idk if I want to get rid of their brothers

Thank you. I’ve had several losses over the years but I think this one is the worst one because I know if I had just gotten out there minutes earlier I could have saved them or if I had just not let them out to begin with! I wanted them to be able to stretch a bit before the storm since they will be locked in for days but I should have know the predators would be hungry! It’s awful too cause I was out working and only went in for a few minutes

It’s one thing when you find them long dead or they just go missing but having to watch her bleed out, take her last breaths, and do the death throes and knowing it was too late to save her was just awful. and then even worse was when I realized it was a baby! I thought it was my old Australorp hen at first which would have been a relief almost because she is 5 and I’m not sure she’s going to make it through this winter. But it just had to be a baby

Usually I eat them with apples, but the chocolate ones got graham crackers or they all got just a spoon

Yes, they absolutely do sound disgusting. But try it. Aldi has a very good return policy, btw.
