BBR chicks gender?

Hi, I'm looking to buy BBR chicks in early summer. I heard BBR males will have a more muddled pattern than females, and females will have an almost black outline around their patterns with dark "eyeliner" that extends to the neck. Can I use this method to tell the gender?

What does BBR stand for?

Black Breasted Red is a color, not a breed. Some breeds, like Welsummers can be sexed by the 'eyeliner', but most can not. Like the name implies, males feather in black on the chest.
