The kippen calculator is a bit confusing to me. Are there any other useful sites on color genetics?

Also, I have BBR Phoenix x self blue OEGB eggs due to hatch. Any clues to what colors I'll get?

The off spring should come out Black. (Split: lavender)

You can try this site for more on genetics --

Thanks Chris, I really think that I will be exploring that site for an hour or so, but what does split mean? (

) Does it mean that lets say if I had a female and a male from the cross and bred the 2, some would be self blue?

Black Split to Lavender --
In short it is a Black colored bird that carries the Lavender gene but the Lavender gene is not seen.

Now if you take a Black Split to Lavender bird and cross it back to a Lavender bird you will get a percentage of the birds being Black and a percentage of the birds being Lavender.
