I just thought of something. We will be camping the 9-12 (so day 12-15 I think if I did it right) Well every now and then someone goes to the wrong box (well they each have once). I don't want to mvoe them and the only thing that I have to block their nest boxes that they can have room to get up and poop and eat is a kids play yard (that you can undo and open or put together to make a shape). I had tried it with Ditzy when she had the chicks and she jumped over it so I know they can jump over it and think they can probably squeeze by it and knock it over if they tried since it wont' sit flush against the sides of the boxes so there will be a small gap........ I really HOPE they have it figured out by then so they aren't off for long! I can ask someone to check but she normally isn't around on Sat afternoon into Sun. I have one other person I can ask to check at night. but not sure how comfortable either will be picking up a broody! Oh boy!

Can you add some chicken wire around the boxes to keep them in? Will the othet hens be able to access different boxes? I would definitely try something to hold them in the right place. If they swap nests it would be fine but if they go to the wrong one your eggs are goners…

I have 1 other box for the other girls. They are all in a row so I can block just 2 but the way they are set up there will be a small gap that I am worried the broodys may try to squeeze through. And I would be worried they wouldn't have much room with blocking it.... I could maybe make it bigger but then I have the 12 6 weeks old that seem to hang in the coop quite a bit still.

I know I won't have to worry about them off too long since a long time for them to be off is maybe 30 min. They are back on so fast and some days they don't get off at all. Guess I will see how the next week goes with them going back to right nest and go from there. The first week they never went to wrong one. So not sure if now is just adjusting to the extra eggs in their nest boxes or what.

Thought of something. Guess if all else fails I use the incubator for those 4 days. Will just need someone to add water..

Ugh the first 4-7 days take FOREVER!!!!! I am dying to candle and see if ANYTHING is going on! I peeked a a couple today but it is only day 2 so saw nothing. LOL

So Nugget seems to be one that only gets up once every other day. Fajita has been getting up once a day for 30 min sometimes an hour. Will be interesting to see if it changes when they hatch or not.....

I had to go out to the coop after dark tonight so I took a quick peek at 3 eggs under Fajita and 1 under Nugget and saw nothing in any. It is about 6 hrs into day 3 so may be too early still but was hoping I saw a glimmer of something.
