Bbs vs fbc Marans?

I am looking to add darker eggs to my egg basket. What, other than e color of the chicken, is the difference between bbs and bcm marans? Does one lay darker eggs or lay more frequently?

They are both Marans so no advantage there. However, its up to breeders to maintain the color of their flocks eggs. So find a breeder of the darkest eggs regardless of the variety. Avoid all hatchery Marans.

Rainbowrooster has given you some good advice. The lay rate and color will be the same for both varieties (assuming they're from a reputable breeder), so I would suggest getting the variety you think is prettier.
