These Marans were hatched around July 11, so they are now around 6 weeks old. The littlest one appears to be a rooster; I think he is a few days younger than the girls, since he's been catching up to them in size lately. His comb is significantly bigger than the other three, he has wattles, and boy is he feisty! There's one that I am certain is a hen. While she is the biggest of the four, she is very tame and has hardly any comb at all. The remaining two I think are also hens, since their combs are nowhere near as prominent as Mr. Hot Stuff's is. But ... What do you think? Am I right, or is it still too early to be sure? (Well, as sure as one can be before crowing or laying evidence.)

This is the only picture I could get the included the For Sure A Girl; she kept hiding behind the waterer! She's third from the left, behind everyone else.

1 rooster and 3 hens.....I onjly saw feathers on 1 of them? Where did you get your eggs....Must have been a mixed flock. Cute birds though! Great boy /girl ratio....You lucked out!!!!SMILE.

Be blessed and be a blessing.

They do all have feathered legs, some of them lighter than the others. Their leg-feathers are still small though. They're from the Wade Jean C1 line, from a local breeder.

And durrr, yes, I meant July 11th! XD

I think i can agree with 3 girls and a boy, but those 2 with medium combs are the type that always get me
