I get rather annoyed with people who make up excuses for the rooster attacking them. Three strikes and you're out - the rooster I mean. Why would you want to raise his offspring and create a bunch more with his aggressive personality. My friend got badly spurred by her house rooster and blamed herself for it. Why not they were in the same house and apparently that was reason enough for the attack.
And yes, when I started on BYC a number of people were bragging how they killed a hawk or wounded him etc. raptors are protected by law and the fines & prison sentence are no joke. You can even be fined for possessing their feathers. Like they never molt or lose feathers on their own. I'd find one occasionally by the telephone pole one used as his lookout post, and didn't dare pick them up.
