Beak injury on quail

My quail had a bit of an overgrown beak. As i was going to trim it, I realized there was a Crack in the beak ( im not sure if I caused this by trying to cut the tip or if it just revealed it ). Any tips on what I should do? Should I tear it off or should I just leave it? There was a bit of blood on it, but a very small amount that didn't drip at all, so bleeding is not a concern.
