Beak problem

I just noticed that one of my 3 week old Ameracana's has a "dislocated beak". Her lower beak is sort of bent over to the left and does not line up with the top beak at all.The wife tried to moved it by hand but could not. Anyone familar with this sort of problem? This is our first start with chickens and we don't know what to do. Thank you in advance.

She was probably born with a malaligned beak. You can carefully trim the ends of both beaks back to, but not into the quick. Provide her with a deep dish of feed so that she can more readily eat. Such chicks generlly have a problem eating and frequently do not thrive. Good luck with her.

I have a 2 month old that has sortta the same issue. Bottom beak does not line up with the top.
He has no problem eating but I am wondering if it will lead to more difficulties as he gets older.
Do I need to worry or take action?

I'll have to get a picture of my girl . She has a way worse problem then yours.

is it cross beak? i had a chick start with small (genetic)deformity it eventually got worse had to be put down. Search cross beak from past threads-very helpful. It was also ameraucana Good luck hope its not the same thing.

I have a 4 week old cross beak. Right now we are filing it with an emery board, right on the tip. Might be helping some. She seems to eat and drink fine and gaining weight. Got her a deep dish bowl. I was told to watch the weight and you can give it yogurt and scrambled eggs to boost up protein. Here is my Pippa.

My baby chick has no top beak at all, the mom kept peaking at babys top beak when it was born, then we saved it. It seams like it's getting bigger, but not sure if it's going to make it when it gets bigger.
