Beak rot?

Young poultry has extremely soft spot on upper beak for a few days and now it has started bleeding just a tiny bit. Any suggestions as to what this may be?

Did another chick injure him? Or maybe he injured himself trying to poke his beak through a fence, or into a metal feeder.

Sorry, I am not sure what is going on with your little one’s beak but I see you have posted on the ER Forum so will leave you in the hands of the experts.
