I have a cross beak bantam cochin pullet, I trimmed her beak once when she was younger, but haven’t lately. She seems to eat quite well with it, so I’m somewhat scared to trim, in case she uses it better the way it is.
Not only is her beak crossed, it sits on her face crooked. As many chicks as I’ve hatched from this group of birds, she’s the only bantam cochin I’ve had with a cross beak. So I don’t think it’s genetic, I think it must have been a fluke of incubation (broody hatch). I still won’t hatch any of her eggs once she starts laying.
