I've been shocked on the same fence that deters the bears - as have my dogs (yum, bacon!) It hurts, and it'll teach a lesson, but its not cruel - and they are eating your chickens, so....

You can also take some foil and daub some peanut butter on it. Everything loves peanut butter! That can be crimped onto the wire and it’s easy to make several of them so you can do all sides of your coop! I think that’s a good idea for you to bring your birds in at least until you’re pretty sure the bear has had some aversion therapy, lol No birds, sore nose I’ll look somewhere else, hopefully.

Okay this 10 mile system says it requires 3 grounding rods..10 feet apart..70 feet at least from my utilities. Um hello..im in town that isnt even possible. So now what? Do i need take it back? Soo confused. At this point i think i just need to admit defeat and rehome my birds before their inevitable slaughter.
