You misunderstood my reply....The wood with nails is only out to deter the Bear from getting inside the coop through the door and window...If bears are an issue, would not all livestock be locked up at night?.During the day the deterrent is removed...Not sure why anything other than the bear would step on it??

I did misunderstand your reply, precisely the part of removing it each day. My apologies but no harm was intended in the first place by me, only a thought that the board would be left in place...my point of misunderstanding. Sorry to cause you concern.

I would suppose that you know a good bit about things...more about bears than I do, for sure.
