Have you heard of people putting easter eggs in the nesting boxes to get them to start laying, I want to do this but I' not sure. One of my hens, she is an Araucana, she doesn't seem to be laying. I gotta say she is really funny, but she does't go into the nesting boxes it's like she has been traumatized in one of them.

I've heard of using fake eggs to let them know where to lay. Granted idk if it works if they have stopped laying during winter. Usually that has to do with the amount of light that is in the day. I use a timer to give them 13 to 14 hours of "day light." It worked for my quail! The bigger chickens started laying again too.

It really worked for my easter egger and now I have solar lights that go in by the dog houses I have for nesting boxes. Lol resourceful.

Nice. I met a guy this summer who sold me my hens. I talked to him yesterday and he wanted to buy the Belgians I have but they were out of stock in the hatchery. So he wants to trade me chicks! My black Quail for his Dutch bantams! (several color varieties)
