Bearded ladies

Simi Valley

Ha! My first house was in Simi Valley. $100 per bird? Give me a break.

No wonder I left.
Anyway, that black and white hen is gorgeous. The first one just looks angry!

I grew up in Simi. I left when I was 16. I hardly recognize it now. I have been back a few times. lat time was 4 years ago.
The first hen was scalped as a chick so her feathers grew back strange. I actually didn't think they would grow back at all. I had a bandage wraped around her head for a few months. I wish I could find a picture of that. She was a funny looking bird for sure.

Small world! I grew up in Moorpark... but lucky enough to be way out on the way to Somis. We always had horses, chickens, etc. etc. I left because it's not the place it used to be... but now I'm homesick but can't afford to move back.

My parents are still there and my brother and his wife are in Simi, over by the hospital.
Anyway, sorry to hijack the thread! Back to the gorgeous ladies....

They do look alike!!

I have a golden laced hen also, but she shaves.

I will get a picture of her today for everyone. She is nice too, but looks odd without her facial hair.
