They are smart and learn quick. Look at Premier 1 online too they have fencing solar and electric. Yep I’d say your right not much Can be protected if a bear really wants in.

With Bears things are only a deterrent..If they really want in?..They will get in. Hot wire works for friends of mine further North but it has to be hot wire and not just Poultry fence. Nose height so they touch it...

I've got bears, twins even. Yes, I & dogs Pee around my coop/ garden. I also use nail boards (nails sticking out of a board) around the fence tops. Guillotine door is the Only door I have found that raccoons an bears can't Open. I have used electric tape in the past,it works also. I had one try to dig under, I fix that by digging in Fencing around the coop about 2ft wide section. That stop them. Good Luck in the Wild, Smile-in

I went to TSC today and got very confused at the options - so i'm putting the hubs on electric fence duty this weekend! Until then, I'm going to camp out on the back porch with a shotgun - just kidding - but I will sleep with one eye open like my ducks!

I have been known to Shoot my 410 with BirdShot, in the air to get rid of Pesky Bears. All those shots falling around them, Scoots them away Faster. Teehee

Only way you're going to stop at Black bear is with the grizzly bear. Good luck!!
