Beat up roo gets bad frostbite! Help!

Can you post a shot of his head/comb?

Unfortunatly no. I currently can't upload from my phone and my comp has no internet. :/ other ways I'd already have done so.

The yellow white bubbles are raised up, and getting bigger, they appear just below the skin but one seams quite deep. This seams to be the worst part. The fact they are growing is bad. The one on his wattles has gone down but his comb is getting worse. They are also starting to leak yellow stuffs which I believe is some fluid mixed with puss.

I was wondering if there were any an it bi otics I could feed him.

I'd disinfect the comb completely (swab with betadine). If he's pretty easy to handle you could try warm, wet soaks with a weak solution of epsom salts to draw out more gunk (sterile 4"x4" gauze pad soaked (folded inside a warm wet washcloth (retains heat longer) and held on comb until cool. Then reapply antibiotic ointment (two- three times a day). If not showing improvement/getting worse after a couple days of treatment then maybe try Penicillin (usually available at feed stores - more info/links in post below). Baytril/Cephalexin would be your best bets but those require scripts from a vet.

You may try an injectable animal penicillin under the skin on his neck at the back of his head and some in his left breast. I can tell you this or at least I think that I can tell you this, when he heals his comb will be so misshapen he will for ever more be unfit for the show ring. If he is an excellent rooster it is better to save him and infuse his DNA into future chicks.

I'm amazed at how well he's healed. Those weird puss filled blisters popped and went away. He has not lost the shape of his comb and it looks remarkable now! I can say it looked devastating for a while and I thought for sure he would lose his comb tipps. He's currently residing happily in our basement lol. Warm and toasty! And now frostbite and infection free.

I guess the comb can take more abuse than what I thought.

Thanks everyone for the help and advice!
