I'm so sick about your poor Charlotte! As you know, I have three sister hens who look like her plus an Ameraucana named Charlotte. I treasure those four so I can imagine how heartbroken you are right now.

Thank you, I appreciate your support right now. I think it just hit me so hard because I'm missing my son right now and that little hen was a very strong connection with him. He loves her, he rescued her, he carried her around on his shoulder, and for a teenage boy that is special.

Oh, I am so sorry! If you can find a few of her pretty feathers and some special photos, maybe a couple pieces of her egg shells, then you could make a little shadow box for your son. I have a pet crematory, we try to come up with some ideas for our clients to memoralize their fuzzy family members.

I have a ton of pictures of her and one of her babies from her last hatch. The thing that really is driving me nuts is that I know she started a new nest somewhere I can't find it anywhere!
