Became lame all of a sudden - won't eat or drink

Last night when I got home, one of my 8 guinea hens was lame, her foot was curled up and she would't move - wouldn't eat or drink. I had to leave her today to go to work. What could have caused it? What should I do? I raised all 8 of them from day old chicks.
Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks.

Hi Groos, it's been a while since you posted (I've been offline, just now saw this post), but hopefully your Guinea has improved by now. If not, definitely check the foot/toes/sole of the foot for any kind of splinter or thorn. Guineas will usually baby themselves pretty well until healed, but it may be something you can easily help pull out of the foot and speed the recovery time.

First of all,

! Once, I had a guinea that couldn't walk for a whole morning. I went down to check on her at night, and she didn't have any trace of a limp. Check for thorns, like earlier stated, and feel for broken bones. I can't think of what else might be wrong. Good luck!
