Good for you realizing the situation you were in and making a change. Not an easy road and a smaller uglier house is nothing to be ashamed of. My current house was my starter house 15 years ago but much different but we have made it a home. It's small but it works. Chin up and your doing right by your kids. You'll find someone who appreciates you and your kids. I remarried and have the best mom/wife I could ever ask for and she was right under my nose(I knew her for many years as my sisters friend) but married high school sweetheart who bailed after 1.5 years.

Life sucks sometimes, but it does get better. Just know that and keep your head up. You made the decision to leave your partner for a reason, don't second guess yourself. I'M really sorry to hear about your father, I really can't imagine when the time comes how I will deal with it. I just wish you all the best.
