Bedding/Litter in a duck coop?

my ducks get no water at night now. I also started adding cedar shavings to the side of the duck house where they make their nest and lay their eggs. (all 3 ducks lay in the same nest) It keeps their eggs cleaner...and smells good too.

I know Cedar is bad for chickens, but ducks seem more tolerable, and there is a whole lot of ventilation in the duck house.

moenmitz is there a chance you could post a picture of that setup. My 4 pekins and 1 rowan go through 3 gallons of water in about 15 mins in my coop, makes a hell of a mess and wouldnt mind seeing yours to go with the description.
