Hi Chicken Ladies & Gents! I've been a lurker for several months now, but decided to jump in and introduce myself today!

I am a first time chicken keeper and having a blast! I lived in Evergreen, Colorado for 30+ years, but recently retired and moved to a small (8 ac) hobby farm in northeast Tennessee 12/21/24. I have a mixed flock of 12 chickens that include 11 hens & one "accidental rooster". He's a good boy for the most part, besides being very frisky with one of the ladies (Amber)! I got my day-old chicks mid-May and got my first egg 10/14/25...today I collected 8 eggs, the most so far!

My "Pampered Producers" are:

Amber = Cream Legbar
Buffy = Buff Orpington
Frieda = Black Copper Marans
Henrietta = Black Austrolorp
Lacie = Silver Laced Wyandotte
Lucy = Red Sex Linked
Polly = Barred Plymouth Rock
Reba = Blue Laced Wyandotte
Stella = Easter Egger
Sylvia = Lavender Orpington
Tina = Easter Egger
...and Bobby (formerly "Barbie") = Easter Egger

I have an Amish-made coop & let them free range a couple of hours almost everyday - and plan to add on to their run area in the spring.
