Bees in the chicken feed

The bees are after the pollen in the feed. I have the same problem with my bird feeders this time of year. I have given up on getting rid of the bees and now enjoy watching them fight with the birds over feeder space. When I get some chickens I guess I can watch them argue with the bees too. This is my first post so be patient with me.

I've been having bee's coming in my pen when I feed my flock, too. I have also noticed that when they do, some of my chicken's are grabbing and eating them.
Pretty sure mine have indulged in some bee meat too. They certainly aren't avoiding the bees and it hasn't deterred them from eating.
These are very mild mannered bees. Despite all my waving and swatting, I haven't been stung.

My Naked Neck's won't go after the bee's, but the Silver Grey Dorking's and the White Rock's do.

Yeah, I think naked necks are just smarter than the average chicken...and cuter too. Am I right?

:welcome :frow There is a first time for everything. Good luck and have fun...

Check your feed, the Flock Raiser around here has molasses in the ingredients. It drew ants here during the summer.
I buy a Non-Medicated Starter-Grower 18% when available, no molasses in the ingredients. GC
Thank you. I hadn't checked the ingredients but I'm sure you are right.
