I agree... I know before I set my first... I read, bought a book, let a friend show me how (with my seramas) went through the entire process... When I finally bought my bator, I set it up for a few days just to see how it worked.
When I was testing I placed it in several locations in my hatchery (house) to see where it held temps best. I don't know.. call me weird.
One question that I have and I have seen several posts of this nature....
HOW DO YOU incubate with out knowing how many days they have been in the bator? I know the time, date, mood I was in when I set my eggs. I know because right next to the bator are my notes. I recorded each time I turned, temps, RH, Candled, moved, added water.. so I know how many days, when lockdown was to happen.
If you can't do simple record keeping.. (or even know when you set the eggs) .. Sell your bator (they have a nice swap shop here) and just order baby chicks.
Ok.. off my soap box.
My hatching schedule.. it looks like my dog ate it.
