My wife and I are in a village that just changed the village ordinances to allow for backyard chickens. We are the first family to apply for the process and we need a community to get us through this journey. We are the test family for the village so this has to go well or they may change their minds. We need a set of plans for our coop and I know what I want to do but I don't know how to design a drawing. Anyone know where I can get help?

Hello:frow

Thanks for sharing your story!!
You have come to the right place.
There are many people on here that are ready to help in anyway they can!
The learning center also has alot of great information on it as well!
Enjoy!:wee

Hello! There are many books on the subject: Chickens for Dummies ( I don't think you are a dummy) is a good one to start with. Good luck with your project. I hope you succeed.

Welcome to BYC! I love chicken tractors. The first one we built was my favorite. I moved it daily & watered the droppings into the grass. We had a beautiful yard. It really depends on the area you live (note: add your location on your profile to avoid people asking often) & how many chickens you plan to have. Do avoid those cute coops they sale at Tractor Supply type stores. They are cheaply made & poorly designed. You came to the right place. You'll find many coop designs & members here are very helpful. There are "no stupid questions"!

Thank you! These books are a great series for most subjects. I didn't know a book like this existed. I will buy a copy immediately. I am sketching up my ideas and hopefully, I can translate it to reality.
